About
Tour Wrist lets you travel the world from your iOS device by taking virtual tours from locations such as Canary Wharf and the White House. A full 3D panorama image is available to spin around with your finger or gyroscope.
Positives
The app isn’t short of tours with over 20,000 which can be searched locally or across the world on a map. Browsing tours lets you choose what to display on the map such as dining, real estate, hotels, retail and landmarks. Tour Wrist is one of the best uses of the gyroscope I’ve seen it’s almost like you are holding a camera at the landmark and can spin around to see different shots. High quality images make the experience even better and look great on screen.
Negatives
My only issue with this app is it is hard to add your own panorama which at the moment requires you to set up an account and pay a subscription. For this reason most of the tours are actually of hotels around 12,000 in fact. The subscription is free until October 1st but requires professionals rather than just your phone.
Final Verdict
This is a great way to browse locations, think of it as street view on steroids. The app is completely free and has a great UI with very few issues. The use of the gyroscope is excellent and should be tried by everyone with these devices, if you don’t have a gyroscope you can also use touch.
